There are seven basic traits of conversation to begin with:
1. Reverence: it's important to be respectful in the conversation.
2. Appreciation and Acceptance: one must appreciate every thought that the other person has. And even if you disagree, you should be accepting of their right to think that way.
3. Informed: You must have acute knowledge of the topic in details and must never sway away from the main train of topic. Focus is important.
4. Active Listener: Have an empowering attitude while you listen to others speak by truly understanding every word they say. Also, be sure to speak loud and clear while voicing your opinions.
5. Inquire and Probe.
6. Understanding: it is important to note important things from what you have listened and employ your understanding of it in your speech.
