Hello applicant,

*Firstly I wanna talk about the state universities which are owned by   state. They are mainly for the students of that particular state, and have special state quota for the people of that particular state. Although other state people can also join these universities. These take admission through an entrance test held for admission to that univeristy only, with centres in that particular state only.

*A central university is one, which is a national university. There is no state quota for students admitting to this university. However there is some caste and gender quota. These universities function at national level. The funds and other facilities are provided by government of India, and not any particular state.

*In general the national universities are preffered over state universities, probably due to there better recognition.

Hope it helpful

Hello sai,

As per your Query this is the difference between Central Universities and Deemed Universities and State Universities,

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY:

A central university is established by an Act of Parliament and are under the direct purview of the Department of Higher Education (DHE) under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). As of February 2017, there are 47 Central universities in our country.

STATE UNIVERSITY:

As the name suggests, state universities are established, run and funded by the state government. State universities are usually established by a local legislative assembly act. According to a UGC consolidated list, there are 359 state universities in the country. State Universities can confer/grant their own degrees to the students.
