dear aspirant,
The functioning of a deemed medical university is different from that of a govt college. Here are certain drawbacks which exist according to my experience in a deemed college and talks with friends in other colleges
1.The administration can be a pain at times can hinder learning.
2.Patient flow is less than that compared to govt coll but its all about your own involment and your drive to learn.
3.The learning atmosphere is better at a govt college which i think is a very very important especially in a medical field. Here if the seniors had taken studies lightly you tend to follow their path.
4.Job opportunities and esteemed degree is more renowned from a govt med coll.
5.The fee structuring is a great drain on financial resources in deemed. And if you go ahead for PG from a deemed too its an even greater strain. So be prepared.
Once you start practicing privately it doesnt really matter where you get your degree from but what is put to test is your clinical knowledge and communication skills. But in a medical community you are looked upon with a higher respect for sure if from a govt college.
Before entering MBBS make sure you have thought amply about it. Competition isnt easy post MBBS many people come to a standstill due to non attainment of PG. It requires you to deal with very high stress situations and you are required to be highly consistent. Measure all the pros and cons.
best of luck.
