The duties of CAG are-

1. To audit the accounts that are related to all expenditures from the Consolidated Fund of India. Consolidated Fund belonging to each state and UT have a legislative assembly.

2. To audit all the expenditures that are coming from the Contingency Fund and Public Account of each of the states.
