In India, you can get stipend after clearing various JRF exams conducted by various institutes.

• CSIR -UGC -JRF
• DBT JRF
• ICMR JRF
• INSPIRE (Based on merit only)

All above mentioned schemes are specifically for doing PhD in India. You will receive 31k per month plus HRA every month after joining PhD.
