As a 12th class student, these are the following entrance examinations you can give in order to get into a medical college-
1.NEET UG
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted by NTA to get admission into MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India except for the institutions- AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
Also, for admission to courses such as BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, B.Sc. Yoga and Naturopathy from a Government college, it is mandatory to give NEET.
• The exam is held in the month of May. For 2019, it will be conducted on 5th May (Sunday).
• Application forms for NEET(UG) 2019 have already been filled in the month of November 2018. So, if you haven’t applied then you can give the exam next year.
Syllabus and question paper pattern: -
• Syllabus of NEET(UG) is based on CBSE, NCERT and state board’s curriculum of Class 11th and 12th.
• The examination is pen and paper-based and is of 3-hour duration.
• Paper consists of total 180 MCQs divided into 3 sections of physics, chemistry and biology as 45 questions in physics, 45 in chemistry and 90 questions in biology (zoology+ botany)

AIIMS – MBBS
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts entrance exam for its MBBS course once in a year.
The exam is held during the month of May. This year the dates for examination are 25th and 26th May in two shifts. Registration link has been closed in January.
Question Paper Pattern
Duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes. The question paper comprises of 200 MCQs with 60 questions each in physics, chemistry and biology section and 20 questions general knowledge.

JIPMER- MBBS
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research is an autonomous institute funded by govt. of India. This medical college conducts its own MBBS entrance examination.
The examination is held in the month of June. Registrations for entrance is yet to be started so you can apply for JIPMER-2019. Paper is of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

AIIMS B.Sc.(H) Nursing/B.Sc. (Paramedical Courses)
For admission to courses such as nursing and paramedical ones in AIIMS, one needs to give entrance examinations that are held once in a year. Exams for these courses will be held separately in the month of June. The application portal has been closed in January.

India Army B.Sc. Nursing
Firstly, this entrance exam is for female candidates only. The entrance test is conducted in the month of January. For 2019 entrance examination, Registrations started on 13th November 2018 and ended on 30th November 2018. But if you want to apply next year, then visit-

State-level entrance examinations for paramedical and nursing colleges and Private colleges
Other than MBBS and BDS, if you want to join nursing and paramedical courses then you can also apply for state level exams for the respective course. Various private colleges also offer these courses, so can apply there too.
Importance of NEET
If you want to be a doctor, then it is recommended that you give NEET. Because after qualifying the exam, then you are eligible for all the Medical colleges (including Private colleges) in India. On basis of score in NEET, a list is formed based on which get the college. So, AIIMS and JIPMER will only make you eligible for those respective institutions but NEET will make you eligible for all the institutions in the country, except these two.
