IAS officers are given extensive powers; they serve as a vital link between the government and the general public.According to the 7th Pay Commission, the entry-level IAS officer's basic pay is now Rs. 56,100, plus Dearness Allowances, Travel Allowances, and House Rental Allowance. The salary of an IAS officer is determined by their experience and ranking.

Officially, an IAS officer is provided with the following benefits:

A good salary

A rent payment of 10% of salary is required for housing.

Phone both a landline and a cell phone

Official vehicle, jeep, car, etc., as well as gasoline and maintenance

Loan for the purchase of a personal vehicle
