Stomata Functions
Gas Exchange
Carbon Dioxide Inlet: Carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is used by plants for photosynthesis, and hence, stomata are present on the epidermal surface.
Oxygen Outlet: Oxygen as a product, during photosynthesis, is emitted into the atmosphere through stomata.
Transpiration
The amount of water loss is regulated by stomata. As they open and close, so, the quantity of water lost, in the form of vapor, from the plant body is controlled.
Transpiration also helps with the absorption of water and minerals from the soil.
Basically, stomata are a crucial tool in the survival and growth of plants.
