There are many filmmaking institutes in India that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to select from. As you have not mentioned your education level, I will share details about both.
The admission to the filmmaking institutes is basis their entrance test. Candidates have to apply and appear in an institute specific entrance test. This admission process applies to both UG and PG level institutions.
UG level institutes are,
1. National Institute of Design (NID)- B.Des in Animation and Film Design
B.Des in Film and Video Communication. Admission is through test- NID DAT
2. Whistling Woods International, Mumbai - B.Sc./B.A. in Filmmaking with specialisations
B.A. in Screenwriting- Admission process has General Aptitude Test, Creative Ability Test & Personal Interview.
3. Mumbai University - B.A. Programme In Film, Television And New Media Production- MU Mass Communication Entrance test
4. Ajeenkya Dy Patil University, Pune - B.Sc. In Film Making- ADYPU Aptitude test
5. Amity University - B.A. (Film & Television Production)- Entrance test
Some PG level filmmaking institutes are,
1. Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata - Postgraduate Programme In Cinema- SRFTI entrance test
2. Film And Television Institute Of India, Pune - Three Year Post Graduate Diploma in Direction & Screenplay Writing/ Three Year Post Graduate Diploma in Art Direction and Production Design- FTII entrance test
