Chemical Engineering is one of the oldest branch of Engineering around the world However, it’s a

new stream in India.Chemical Engineering involves mainly physics and mathematics along with the

concepts of chemistry.A lot of Career options are there after having a graduation degree in Chemical

enginering in numerous fields of Research, Design and Production::

DESIGN: Its mainly involves about designing a process and its related equippments or machineries

and Chemical plants too.Some of the Designing Companies are EIL, SHELL, FLOUR KBR etc..The

eligibility criteria involves a B.Tech/ BE degree and also the starting basic salary ranges from 9LPA

to higher depending on the comapny. This field involves many MNCs which also provide a good

foreign exposure ..

PRODUCTION: This field involves the production of materials,fertilizers, pharmaceuticals and

chemicals on a large scale.The companies in this fields are: ONGC,IOCL,BPCL,HPCL,GAIL, ASIAN

PAINTS, SLUMBERGER, TATA CHEMICALS etc. The comapnies from different subfields are

mentioned too:

 Oil & gas Indian companies – ONGC, HPCL, BPCL, Reliance Petroleum Ltd., Indian Oil

Corporation, GAIL Non-Indian companies – Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil, BP, Total,

Professors in various Premium Colleges and Universities or can also join R & D Department of

Various MNCs, which also provide a handsome Salary.

Apply for GATE: Crazy, right!!! Just in the last point I asked you not to do your masters right after

your bachelor's and here I am asking you to apply for GATE. Well GATE not just helps you to get a

Master's, it also is associated with many Navaratna, Maharatna and Miniratna companies. Using

GATE score you can apply to all these companies (Of course with an eligible score), which otherwise

you cant.
