Here are some of the job opportunities after qualifying B2 level of French in India:
Professor: You can start teaching French in school within the domestic boundaries. As you may already know that a lot of ICSE and CBSE schools have French/ German as compulsory/optional languages and it’s often observed that teachers often lack in teaching. So, if you find your passion in educating people this might be your call.
b) Language Trainer: B2 is the intermediate level, which means that you’re now able to comprehend native fluency and are able to respond them. This gives you a scope to become an international language trainer. If you've got a degree in English and have a good TOEFL/ IELTS score, you’re eligible to apply as an English language trainer in France and in any Francophone country. This gives you an opportunity to participate in an exchange programme and visit France. They cover all your living expenses.
c) Translator and Interpreter: You can be full-time/part-time/freelance translator and interpreter. There is always a need for a translator in MNCs as manuals are to be translated in many languages every now and then. There could be more openings based on the requirements of the individual company.
d) Embassy: You can work in an embassy. However, it may require another level of French for them to really choose you but after B2 you’re eligible. This will also demand a degree or diploma that will act as proof for your fluency in the English language.
I hope my answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
e) IFS: You can prepare for UPSC or other such exams and can become a part of Indian Foreign Servies. The very first position you’ll get would be as the third secretary of the Ambassador. This involves frequent promotions and if you’re good enough you might become the ambassador your self! However, the opening payscale is not that attractive but it does get better.
