Nope! The MCA course is so oriented that the student can take some skills up because the MCA course is joined by a diversity of students from different backgrounds. So there are no demerits you will face regarding the placement or jobs. Infact you may get some edge over the BCA student if you have good mathematical skills. As a physics students, you learn Mathematical Physics in which calculus and Linear Algebra is the two important parts. So you will be able to implement those and you will feel easy to learn this subjects in a way.
If you don't have any background with CS then you need to give some time to learn the terminology, but there are no demerit in terms of placements and jobs or academically as well.
