There are multiple job opportunities which will open up in both the private and public sectors once you do your Masters in Biotechnology.


Job prospects after Masters in Biotechnology are:

  • Research associate : If research and development interests you, you can become a Research Associate. It allows you to carry out research experiments under the instructions and guideline set by established scientists.
  • Lab Technician: The cleaning and maintenance of the lab and lab experiments used by research scientists come under this job. You are required to work on various lab equipments as instructed by the scientist.
  • Research Scientist: A Research Scientist works along side other scientists, he carries out experiments and writes detailed reports about the carried out experiments for future publication.
  • Engineer (Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Environmental etc.): This involves a range of technical and mechanical jobs involved in research and development. It brings artificial intelligence to life by building robots.
  • Sales Representative: You would as a Sales Representative work with doctors, hospitals and multiple other medical institutions. Your responsibility will be to make them aware of biotechnological offerings and developments.
  • Marketing: In marketing related to biotechnological products deals with devising campaigns aims at particular customer areas. Marketing also involves maintaining a visible presence at trade shows and medical conventions.
  • Business Development Manager: This is a position involves working with other partners and colleagues to negotiate agreements and introduce products with potential and strategic partners.
  • Teaching: You can settle for a teaching jobs if you are passionate about this topic and feel like you will be able to successfully project that knowledge you have gained.
  • Research and Patenting: You under this field will work around Patents and Intellectual Property Rights. You can work in patent firms. You will be exposed to legal matters of the firm you are working with, and you can also rise up to be a Biotech Patent Lawyer.
  • Entrepreneur: You can start your own business. Whether it be a pharmaceutical company, robotic management etc.

  • You can go for Masters in Biotechnology (M.Tech )
  • You can go for P.hd
  • You can have job in R&D in a Biotech Company
  • Research Scholar in Biotech Labs like CSIR labs, DST labs, DBT labs, ICMR labs, ICAR labs, and many other private labs with fellowship.
  • Entrepreneurship - Starting your own business with your idea.
  • Teaching is always an option
