Jobs in public relations are of two types: in-house in the communications or PR department of a corporate or social organization or a consulting firm. A PR firm is similar to a law firm but has a reputation as an advertising company. Salaries start at Rs 3 lakh per year and close to triple every five years for the best-in-class professionals. PR practitioners end up as Marketing Directors and CEOs of PR companies in the 15th to 20th year of their career.
