In CBSE Class 12, students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of subjects. They are required to take 1 Language subject, either English or Hindi. Additionally, they must select 3 Main Stream subjects based on their chosen stream. For Science students, the options include Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Maths. Commerce students can choose from Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics. Art students have the option to study History, Geography, and Political Science. Furthermore, students are allowed to choose 1 Optional subject as per their school's offerings. Lastly, they can also opt for 1 Additional subject to further enhance their academic pursuits.

Hello aspirant,

In the CBSE curriculum, there are five subjects to choose for 12th for pursuing a Science/Technology faculty relatedcourses. They are:

1.Physics

2.Chemistry

3.Mathematics

4  language course

5. Dependent on the students idea

Choosing the five subjects in CBSE is based on the idea of what the student wants out of his academics. Generally, students preparing for entrance exams and solely hoping to excel in that tend to choose subjects that go light on their preparation, so that their focus can be on the various entrance examinations likeJEE Mains and  JEE Advanced AIPMT, AIIMS etc

Hope you understand,

Thank you

Hello Mayank,

Yes, you can take up 5 additional subjects along with English in your CBSE class 12th, making it a total of 6 subjects. But the overall percentage for your 12th will be the percentage considering the best of five subjects out of six subjects, the five subjects which will be considered should either include one language and four elective OR two language and three elective.

Hope this answers your query, feel free to ask for more info.

Hi pal,

Along with the main subjects you can choose optional subjects in 12th.

For medical stream along with PCB you can choose-

Psychology

Home Science

Mathematics

Economics

Biotechnology

Fine Arts

Physical Education

And along with PCM you can choose one of them.

Biotechnology

Economics

Computer Science

Home Science

So with any them combination max you can have 3 main subjects, 1 optional and 2-3 more Subject which is Depands on board.

Hope it helps,
