What are the minimum marks to qualify the entrance test of Jamia for Mass Comm?
Jamia has assigned minimum qualifying marks to all its entrance tests, either subjective or objective. Every test taker must secure minimum 40% marks in the JMI entrance test to be able to get shortlisted for further admission/selection process. In Programme which has subjective/ descriptive components in the Entrance Test, candidates obtaining less than 40% marks in the subjective/ descriptive part of the Entrance Test, will not be eligible for short-listing for interview/ admission. "

The final selection will comprise,
1. Interview- the duration will be 10-20 minutes or more according to the situation. Each candidate is evaluated on the basis of the following broad parameters -
- Knowledge of contemporary political, social, cultural and economic issues
- Knowledge of contemporary media
- Knowledge of film — Fiction and Non-fiction
- General knowledge and subjects studied at graduation level
- Visualization skills and creative aptitude
- Overall Performance (articulation, reasoning, confidence, etc.)
2. Group Discussion- a moderator will share the topic and the candidates have to present their view either in favour of the topic or against it.
3. Portfolio evaluation- Candidates shortlisted for the interview have to carry with them a portfolio that provides documentary proof/evidence of their media-related work and extra-curricular activities.
