As you have secured 21796 rank in jee mains from obc category, then there is no Chance that you can get any nits, if you belong from other state.
But if you belong from home state of certain nits, then with this much rank, you can easily get some good nits by applying your home state quota.
For eg - if you belong from haryana, then you can get NIT Kurukshetra even if you are a male home state candidate.
And suppose if you belong from Karnataka state you can get NIT Surathkal - mechanical engineering, metallurgical and materials engineering and mining engineering.
So, the home state quota plays an important role.
