For admission to NITs, IITs, candidates must have secured at least aggregate 75% (65% for SC ST PwD) marks in 12th or must be in top 20 percentile for their boards. The candidate should have passed 12th with Physics, Maths and anyone of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Technical or vocational subjects. For B.arch- PCM and mathematics for B.Plan. There is no age criteria. For IITs, the candidate have to appear for Jee Advanced. Candidates who are born on or after Oct 1, 1995 are eligible for Jee advanced 2020. Eligibility criteria for getting admission in NIT/IITs is;
Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Examination
B.E/B.Tech
1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics,
4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subject.
With at least 45% marks (40 % in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in each of the subjects.
B.Arch./B.Planning
Mathematics subject along with 50% marks in total including five subjects.
Admission to undergraduate engineering/architecture programs for candidates from India at NIT’s shall include the performance in the class 12 exam/other Qualifying Examination and score in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE(Main). Counselling for admission to NIT will start immediately after the declaration of JEE (Main) result. If you have cleared the exam with the required percentile you are eligible for counselling.
