What are the procedure after 10 for NDA?

As per the eligibility conditions mandated by UPSC, if you have just passed class 10, you are not yet eligible to qualify NDA exam. The educational requirements to become eligible for NDA are:

• Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidates applying for admission into the Army wing of National Defence Academy must have passed class 12.
• Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Candidates should pass class 12 with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
• Candidates appearing in class 12 or equivalent examination can also apply for NDA. Those appearing in the class 11 exam are not eligible.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts National Defence Academy (NDA) examination for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA is held twice a year – April and September. NDA I is conducted in April while NDA 2 is held in September every year. Decide first which cycle you want to appear. As per eligibility criteria, candidates must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years. The educational qualification required for admission to Army wing of NDA is Class 12 pass. For admission to Air Force and Naval wings of NDA and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy is Class 12 pass with Physics and Mathematics. The application form of NDA I is released in January. NDA II application form is released in June. The recruitment process is conducted in two stages – Written exam and Interview. The detailed procedure of NDA is explained below:

Application form:

• First fill the application form

• The application form has to be filled online.

• There are two stages of application form.

• You need to complete both the stages.

• Fee can be paid both online and offline.

Admit Card:

• Admit card of NDA is released three weeks before the exam.

• It is released for candidates who have filled their application successfully.

• Download the admit card online by entering login credentials.

• Admit card for SSB Interview is released by respective defence academies.

Exam:

• You will have to first appear for the written exam which is conducted in April and September, respectively.

• The written exam carries 900 marks and consists of two papers – General Ability Test and Mathematics.

• The standard of written exam is of Class 10 level.

• Candidates have to secure qualifying marks in written exam prescribed by the commission to be eligible for next round of selection process.

SSB Interview:

• SSB is a two-stage selection procedure.

• All candidates who qualifies the written exam are put to stage-one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards.

• Only those candidates who qualify stage one are admitted to the second stage/remaining tests.

• The stage 2 of SSB continues for 4 to 5 days followed by medical test of 3 to 4 days.

You have to fill the NDA form and appear for the entrance. Questions will be asked from Mathematics, English and related to General Knowledge. You have to clear the entrance with good scores after that you will be called for SSB Interview process.
