Apart from this it is you who need to analyse your needs and expectation about the the college you want to study and see whether JMU fulfills it. As far as education is concerned it is a good option. Now regarding the course whether it is good or bad for you ,is completely based on your interest ,skills and passion towards the subject and you career goals and plan. There is nothing wrong with applied mathematics if you have a deep interest and patience to learn it.
