The ability to choose your own specialization is an excellent benefit for those that choose a career in nursing. Nurse careers offers many opportunities for advancement. Armed with a nursing degree, many nurses are able to advance into management, sometimes even into company leadership positions. Job security is a featured benefit of the nursing career. A nurse career provides excellent wages and benefits. Nurses can now expect a very fair salary and to be paid extra for overtime work.
Disadvantages: Much physical demand is placed on nurses. Lifting is often a requirement of the job, and nurses may have to lift and transfer patients, as well as boxes and equipment, as a normal course of work. Nurses also work on their feet for many hours at a time, placing strain on their backs and causing sore feet. There work is very long for hours. They work infinitely according to the shifts decided for them. They give less time to their families and close ones as they have to remain much time on duty.
