What are the requirements for getting admission for Phd in NIT, Delhi.
i got 77% in b.tech and 83% in m.tech. Is there any possiblity.
Every NIT has its own criteria for selection in terms of Marks and process. You can refer the following for admission in NIT Patna. There are two programmes in PhD- The regular full-time & Part-time
Educational qualification:
Full-Time Ph.D
Interested candidates should be holding a M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch or equivalent degree with at least 6.5 CGPA in aggregate from one of the IITs/NITs/ GFTIs and must have qualified national level graduate entrance test, such as GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET or equivalent, or must be holding a national level fellowship.
Or
Candidates holding a M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch or equivalent degree with at least 7.5 CGPA (or 70 per cent marks) in aggregate from any other recognised technical institute or university, and having qualified national and qualified national level graduate entrance test, such as, GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET or equivalent, or holding a national level fellowship are eligible.
Or
Candidates should be holding a B.Tech/B.Arch degree or equivalent in the respective discipline with at least 9.0 CGPA (or 85 per cent marks) in aggregate from a recognised technical institute or university.
Part time Ph.D
Interested candidates should be holding a M. Tech/M.E/M.Arch or equivalent degree in relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA (or 60 per cent marks) in aggregate from a recognised technical institute or university. The condition for national level graduate admission test is not applicable to sponsored part-time research candidates.
Or
Candidate should be holding a B.Tech/B.Arch degree or equivalent in the respective discipline with at least 7.0 CGPA (or 65 per cent marks) in aggregate from a recognised technical institute or university.
Or
Candidate should be holding a M.Sc/M.Com/MBA/PGDBM/PGDM/MA or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline with at least 6.0 CGPA (or 55 per cent marks) in aggregate from a recognised institute or university.
Selection procedure
Those candidates who do not possess a valid GATE/NET score will have to appear for a written test. The shortlisted ones will then have to appear for an interview . The interview will be of 100 marks and a candidate has to secure at least 50 marks in the interview to be considered for admission to the Ph.D programme, provided vacancy is available.
The
name of the short listed candidates eligible for the interview shall
also be displayed on the Institute website. The ranking will be decided
only based on the interview marks. The written test will consist of
multiple choice objective type questions. There will be 100 questions
having three marks each. The objective questions shall have negative
marking. For each right answer, three marks will be awarded, and for
each wrong answer, one will be deducted.Hope this helps you.
