- Private jobs : There are lots of opportunities in private industries which are working in Agriculture sector e.g.Tractor companies, Irrigation companies, fertiliser and seed companies, Dairy firms etc., as a sales executive as well as research department. Initially, they offer a salary of Rs.15000-30000 for sales executive and Rs.25000-50000 for R&D. These are several consultancies which offer a recruitment in these companies through them, such as krishicareer .
- Government jobs : As mentioned above , every state has a agriculture department and they have mandate of Processing, Mechanisation in farm, for which they recruit Agriculture Engineers in district or Tahsil level. - Research : After completing post graduation among any of the subcategories mentioned above, one can appear for exam of ARS conducted by ASRB, to become a Scientist. - Teaching : One can also join as Assistant Professor at colleges and universities, after qualifying NET, which is conducted by ASRB. An Assistant Professor can earn upto Rs.50000 month.
- UPSC : Although UPSC don't conduct any separate examination to recruit Agricultural Engineers, but a student of B.Tech. is eligible for civil services exam including Indian Forest Services. There is an optional subject of Agril Engineering in IFS exam, which is beneficial for B.Tech. Agril Engg. students.
- Banking : Now a days banking is a booming sector. With every village , city requires a bank and bank requires an Agricultural Field officers. To recruit these officers, IBPS conducts a common exam annually, which gives a good opportunity for Agricultural Engineering students. Salary of these officers goes somewhere Rs.30000-35000.
- Subject Matter Specialist : ICAR has a vast network of KVKs, in which the experts of different subjects are requires. With presence in almost every district, these KVKs recruits these SMSs for the extension of technologies developed by government institutions ,to the farmers. The salary and status for this job is similar to that of Assistant Professor.
- Technical Officer: To assist the Scientists and researchers , ICAR appoints the staff of technical officers. Which is a permanent post and get the salary upto Rs.30000 per month.
