Five major organs make up the UN's structure:

• General Assembly

• United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

• Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

• International Court of Justice

• UN Secretariat

• The Trusteeship Council, the sixth principal organ, ceased to exist on November 1st, 1994, when Palau, the final UN trustee territory, gained its independence.
