ECE or Electronics and Communications Engineering is mostly relalted to electronics systems and Communications devices, their connections, applications etc. In first year, the syllabus is almost same for all branches - Engineering Physics, Chemistry, Basic Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Communication lab, Technical English, Basic Programming Language mostly C language, Elements of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Graphics and related labs.
From second year, there will be core subjects, such as Electronics devices, Mathematics, Network Theory, Digital System, Principles of Communication systems, Analog Circuits, HDL, Verilog HDL, Signals and Systems, Computer Architecture, Communication lab and practical classes related to theory subjects.
In third year, you can have such as Principles of management, Electromagnetic waves, Digital signal processing, Control systems, Microprocessors, Information theory and coding, Data Structure, Microcontroller, Embedded systems, Digital Communications, Computer Networks and related labs and projects at the end of every year.
In final year, there will be one to two projects. VLSI Design, Microwave and antenna, Advanced Communications lab, Wireless communications and elective subjects which will be allotted by the university.
The syllabus is almost same under same University and there can be slight differences in few subjects otherwise everything is same.

Regarding the subject in ECE branch, in first year it will be common for all the branch students. You have to study maths, English, physics, chemistry, electrical, mechanical. From second year maths will go on with some subjects which are specialised in electronics and communication. There will be also some programming subjects which you will have to study.
