When two or more candidates end up securing the same scores in UPSEE 2020 then the authorities use the following tie-breaking rules: Candidate who has lesser number of incorrect answers will be ranked higher. If the tie is not resolved, then the candidate who has more marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry section of Paper 1 will be allotted a higher rank. If the tie still remains, then the candidate who is older in age will be ranked higher. If the candidates are of the same age, then the rank will be allotted on the basis of the application number i.e., the lowest application number will be ranked higher in the merit list.
