What are the topics and courses to be covered for EFL university's M.A English (cafeteria) entrance exam?
Hello Yuraj,
Competing in English Master's entrance examination for English and Foreign Languages University is not that tough and neither it is too easy.
It is so because there are very limited number of seats i.e, number of applications to number of seats ratio is very high. Now coming to your question, for a better chance of competing the exam you must develop your reading habits to the peak.Having read widely, will take you to an advantage over other candidates. This will help you in your essays as you can back them up with high writing skills.Elaboration using quality examples will land you a better chance.
You should also have Knowledge of latest issues in literary studies, and the names of recent awardees, contributions, authors from each period, their works and their characters. You should also prepare reasoning (both language and mathematical).A preliminary knowledge of the history of English literature, genres like poetry, narrative, drama would be enough.
At last,I will suggest that you should practice previous year's papers as well.
Hope this helps!!
