Hi there, you need to have scored Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST . (https://nest.lpu.in/LET/index.php) LPUNEST is the test that you ned to take at LPU for admission in B Tech Mechanical program.
The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc specialisation.
The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics.
He should demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimised solutions using simulated environments of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering.
The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.
Hi Mayank,
There is no plethora of examination that you need to appear in order to get admission as a lateral entry student. It depends on the college you go for; generally, all colleges have similar exam pattern from drop students that is they are needed to show all the academic documents and clear the entrance examination. Coming to mechanical engineering point then that depends on the cut-off decided by the college can't be predetermined.

hi there Mayank, for lateral entry in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering yo should have completed your diploma in mechanical engineering with at least 60 percent aggregate throughout the three years.after this you are required to take a Lateral Entry Entrance Exam which depends on the college you are looking for state and university.
