Hello,

Here are the various opportunities after CLAT

Corporate Counsel

Law graduates can work with company/corporate entity as an in-house counsel, advising on legal matters related to the business. An in-house counsel is responsible for legal works like negotiating contracts, drafting and vetting; ensuring and monitoring compliance with rules and laws. They are also responsible for handling legal disputes.
Counsels are also required in other sectors like Public Sector Undertakings, Government Agencies, Nationalized banks etc. These government organizations usually recruit law graduates through a written competitive exam followed by an interview.

Judicial /Civil services
Those who wish to pursue a stable government career can opt for the State Judicial Service Examination organized by the High Courts for their respective states. Apart from this, one may also go for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), as it is the most prestigious examination in the country.

LAW FIRMS
Law Firms are basically the business entitles engaged in the practice of law. There’s a noticeable trend that has appeared in the last few years is to move from solo practice to well organized law firms, which include several lawyers working together as one entity. As part of a law firm, one advises clients on other legal matters and also about their rights and resources.

Litigation

A Law Graduate can ‘practice law’ in the courts. But it’s important for any fresh graduate to learn the basics under a Senior Counsel. Before joining the Courts of Law, the graduates are now supposed to qualify a Bar Exam. Litigation provides a wide range of employment options in both public and private sectors. You may dedicate yourself to a particular field of law such as Constitution, Taxation, and Family etc. A law graduate can also choose to focus on trial-level practice, appellate work, civil litigation or criminal cases.

Judicial Clerkship

A judicial clerkship is an extremely valuable experience for students who are looking for transactional or litigation work; it provides invaluable insights into the workings of the legal system. Basically Law clerks act as legal assistants whose duties vary from court to court and judge to judge.

Hope this helps you. All the best for your future!
