NATA 2019 or National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2019, organized by Council of Architecture or COA is a national-level examination for admission of candidates into the architecture program all over the country. NATA 2019 comprises 2 papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The exam will be held in offline mode i.e. it is pen & paper based.
As per NATA Exam Pattern 2019, the question paper will have a total of 60 questions in paper 1 from General Aptitude and Mathematics while Paper 2, i.e. Drawing test will have 2 questions for 40 marks each. The question paper for Paper 1 is MCQ-based while Paper-2 is a drawing test.
NCERT book is the undisputed winner when it comes to best books for B.Arch preparation. However, here are some reference books that will provide you additional . There are multiple specialized books, each on Mathematics, Drawing and Aptitude topics.
This book focuses on the B.Arch. entrance exams of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and JEE Main. The latest edition of this book has 4 sections – Architecture Aptitude, Analytical Reasoning, Drawing Aptitude and Mathematics. This is an ideal book for Aptitude and Mathematics, however it has comparatively less questions for drawing.
This book compiles to meet the requirements of students who are preparing mainly for NATA that is conducted by Council of Architecture (COA) in India, and also for JEE Main. It covers topics based on the latest test patterns and for all types of questions related to B.Arch. entrance exams.
This is the bible for aspirants of architecture entrance exams and contains all relevant questions in exhaustive manner and complete in all respects- be it the history of architecture in India or the present day architectural glossary. The drawings and sketches are covered in this book so that students may follow sketches perfectly coordinating the topics.
The book covers multiple informative notes along with sketches arranged for you understand the topics comprehensively. It also contains questions from all the recent exams.
This is a book by the same author as above but this one has extensive study of memory drawings, 2D, 3D composition, photos of national/international buildings, and even with draw perspectives.
However, the Mathematics part is not at par as it does not include references for advance Mathematics questions. Although, it is good for aptitude and architecture awareness sections.
This book contains around 600 multiple choice questions along with answers. This is a book with basic language and is a good practice book. It is a comprehensive guide for the Architecture entrance exams.
In conclusion, i can say that there is no end to the study material for B.Arch examination. Stick to NCERT books and focus on revision . You can consult as many books as you want but ultimately it is you hard work and time management skills that will fetch you good marks in the exam.
