3. KGEC (Government) <very good college and highly respected in WB. Although majority of students end up in service based companies but i’ll suggest you to join this college blindly if u are geting it :) >

4. IEM{for CS/IT only} (Private) <Location and placement are two positive points but it's more a school than college :P>

5. JGEC (Government) <Decent college, Decent coding culture, Decent quality of students, but drawbacks are its placements/infrastructure/location (NOTE: Jalpaiguru is a 12hours trip from Kolkata). >

6. GCECT (Government) <decent govt. college>

7. HITK{except few dept.} (Private) <After JU and CU this is only college that is autonomous>

8. TISL{for CS/IT only} (Private) <same as IEM but overall environment is slightly relaxed.>

9. GCELT/ MAKAUT/ PGEC/ CBGEC (Government) <If u want to study in a govt college only and u are not getting any of the above mentioned colleges>

10. St.Thomas (Private) <One of most disciplined colleges in India(no exaggeration) >

11. NSEC (Private) <CS is very good here and faculties are just awesome but located in a remote area in Garia>

12. RCCIIT (Private) <used to be awesome >

13. BP Poddar (Private) <location is again plus point here>

14. HIT (Private) <Best Private college if u wanna study core subjects>
