Hello aspirant
- Physics: If you attend decent coaching, doing the coaching material a few times is usually enough. Nothing more is needed. If you study on your/you have trouble understanding concepts, HCV+NCERT+Past year papers are enough for Main, and you can add in DC Pandey’s books if you are a bit more ambitious about Advanced.
- Chemistry: Again, coaching material is a must here. There aren’t many great chemistry books in the market (unlike HCV for Physics). You will have to rely on good coaching material (a lot is available online if you search well enough). NCERT+Past papers should suffice, but practice Organic and Physical Chemistry well. For more ambitious people, JD Lee, Solomons and P Bahadur are good enough to land you in the top 100.
- Mathematics: Again, no equivalent of HCV is available here. Mathematics relies heavily on practice - and Arihant books are the best way to do so (of course, they can’t match a real coaching class). If you want heavier practice, A Das Gupta is the way to go. Past papers are required, as always. NCERT won’t do you any good here.
