Hello

To become an IAS officer there is no single course that you have to do. You need to have completed you graduation. So Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a reputed university. After this you need to qualify the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam. The exam itself is structured into three parts – the Preliminary (Civil Services Aptitude Test – CSAT), Main Exam, and finally the Interview.

The UPSC exam is considered to be one of the toughest exam out there and requires a lot of preparation.

So first complete your 12th and graduation and in the meantime read more about the eligibilty criteria like the number of attempts, age limit, etc.

I  have shared a link with you below where you can read about the eligibility criteria: https://competition.careers360.com/articles/upsc-ias-eligibility-criteria#IAS-Eligibility-Criteria-2021--Educational-Qualification

Inculcate the habit of reading the daily newspaper and keep yourself aware of  latest happenings in the country and the world and note them down in a small diary.

Work on your interpersonal skills and communication skills. Your personality is tested during the interview.

Also NCERT books specially 9th and 10th are very important for your preparation, so study those really well.

Once you finish your 12th, then when you are doing your degree you can also take some online coaching classes, and practice question papers.

It is good that you have an interest in it and dedication to get it from such an early stage. Keep this spirit going and I am sure you will be able to clear the three rounds of UPSC exam.

Good Luck

Hello,

Being in class 10th is too early to start preparing for UPSC, your priority should be your studies, however some of the basis things which are essential to initiate the preparation are being  well acquainted with the syllabus, you have to learn it by heart, why I say this, because it's very important for instance daily newspaper reading is must in UPSC, and if you're well aware of the syllabus then only you'll know which topics connect with which paper, and nothing better than NCERTs when it comes to building your base strong, only after this you should move to other standard books, and have an integrated approach while preparing, because nowadays UPSC also asks questions in prelims from Mains syllabus, all these are detailed analysis and it only comes once you go through previous year question paper, have a decent understanding of the syllabus, hence for starters knowing the syllabus well, reading NCERTs and cultivate habit of newspaper reading on a daily basis, once you develop this and being well aware of the syllabus you will know what to read and what to skip, but don't forget your priority is study right now, do well in it first, you have enough time to prepare for UPSC.
