You can not become an IAS Officer right after your 12th. You have to be eligible in order to appear for UPSC Civil Services Exam, This is the exam you need to clear in order to become an IAS Officer.
A candidate must have a bachelor degree in any subject/stream in order to be eligible. The age criteria is from 21 to 32 years.
These were the essential criterias that you have to fulfill at any cost. Now the second thing is , this exam is considered to be the toughest exam in our country. You have completed your 12th , then you must start preparing from now onwards, you can start by reading newspapers, current affairs etc. And if you are really passionate about this exam then you can take admission in BA sociology, history, political science, geography, economics etc. These subjects will give you all the basics you need to have for UPSC CSE.

I will tell you the steps to become an IAS officer after 12th. Please have a look below.

1. After 12th, With any degree or stream you have to complete graduation which can of duration 3 years or 4 years too.

2. After graduation if your age is between 21 years to 32 years then you can apply for UPSC exam through this exam one can be an IAS officer.

3. There you will have two exams, first one is called PRELIMS and the second one is known as MAIN.

4. If you crack these exams then you will be called for interview.

5. The marks of MAIN exam and interview will be added to make the rank list.

6. If you get rank below 105 or 110 in these all process then you will get post as an IAS officer.
