after 12 you can pursue any course in any streme like in science you can pursue b.tech( bachor of technology) in computer science,mechenical engineering etc you can also pursue bsc( bachlor of science) in different subjects like maths,physics,chemistry etc

you can also pursue b.com(bachlor of commerce) degree in commerce feild if you have intrest in it

In humanities you can pursue b.a.( bachlor of arts) in subjects like political science,economics,sociology etc.

In management you can pursue b.b.a.(bachlor in business administration)

Science in 12th can be a major boon to you since it has the highest stream of subjects and you can choose any field. You can pursue biotechnology, chemistry, engineering, medical depending upon pmt adm pcb stream you've taken. Also, if you had any extra subjects like psychology , you can pursue psychiatry too. While there will always be a degradation in your percentage if you will choose another subject to study in your college , the subject you didn't study in your high school.

For eg: If you want to pursue history hons, there would be degradation in your perception.

So, yes a disadvantage and advantage on both sides. Choose wisely!
