Hey Janardhana,
After Diploma in Mechanical Engineering,
1. You can opt for short term courses like AutoCAD, Ansys, Pro/E, CNC Training, Catia, Unigraphics, etc. These courses are six months,1 year or 2 years long in some cases. The experience with the above courses has a good career ahead.
2. You can also do a full time B.Tech/BE in Mechanical engineering. Because pursuing a professional course like Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering is the best and most suitable option these days. Moreover, the pay for bachelor is much more than what is given to diploma holder. Also when you do a full time bachelor degree, dipmola holders are awarded with lateral entry which means direct admission in the second year of engineering.
3. You can also choose for post graduate diploma course in your field of interest. These courses are like Piping Design engineering, Tool Design, Robotics, Machine Maintenance , Applied Mechanics, etc.
In Job prospects,
once you get the degree in engineering you will be recruited by companies like Ford, Mahindra, General Motors, Halliburton and many more recruiters. This can happen either by campus placements or by applying on offcampus drives.
If you choose post graduate diploma course in piping. Industries like Petroleum Refinery sector, manufacturing firms, chemical industry, merchant navy, etc. have requirements for piping professionals in high demand.
Or, you can also go for junior level posts in private or government sector. There are many position for Technician, Supervisor, Junior Engineer, Clerk etc. in government sector. You can also prepare and take bank entrance exams and can work for Private and centralized banks.
The options mentioned above, based on that you can decide in which field you have your interest. Let me know if you want to know more about any specific field mentioned above.
