Hello,
When it comes to government jobs, there are many areas to explore in majority of cases it merely need you to pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized University, such as UPSC,SSC CGL,Banking Exams for the post of clerk and PO in SBI/IBPS/RRB, for the post of Assitant and AAO for insurance exams like LIC,GIC ,NIACL to name a few, there are other reputed exams such as NABARD Grade B Officer/RBI Assistant for which eligibility is based on passed Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% aggregate from a recognized University , in case of RBI Grade B Officer, you need to have 60% in 10th,12th and graduation, apart from this job profiles, there are also subject-specific roles in banking or financial institutions like IT,law, commerce, language etc. In exams like CDS, especially in case of Male candidates, degree programs in any discipline are eligible for only IMA and OTA, for other posts the requirements vary such as engineering degree/Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
The pattern of banking and insurance is quite similar, but its level is comparatively higher to that of SSC CGL where there's repeatation of questions, UPSC is an altogether different thing, so the first thing you have to do is to find your interested job field, for example if you prepare for banking/insurance and UPSC, it's will be very difficult to manage two things, so choose one area wisely and put your single-minded focus, dedication into that wholeheartedly.

Hello dear,
You should do that course which has maximum similar subjects with the syllabus of government exams.
If you are going to attempt civil services then BA program is the best course for preparing for exam as well.
Like that you can match the syllabus of your course and government exam.
Thank you
