What criteria for admission in B. Com? Whether 10+2 passed with Science stream (Non-Med) is admissible for admission in B.Com.?
Earlier it was not possible for science student to get into bcom course but in recent time few colleges are allowing admission in bcom course.
The criteria is given below
Candidates from Commerce Stream- Minimum 60% aggregate AND 55% in Accountancy
Candidates from Science Stream-Minimum 60% aggregate AND 60% in Mathematics
Candidates with Eco, Stats, Maths in Class XII- Minimum 60% in aggregate AND 60% in Mathematics
You can also opt for BMS /BBA course because In BMS everything is taught from Basic to Advanced. You might find Bcom course difficult.Almost all college allow admission of science students in BMS/BBAcourse.
There is separate merit list for science student. In case of Bcom, only few colleges allow the admission. The few colleges are LPU,NM,Christ University,SRL,St Xaviers and so on.So choose wisely.
Hope I cleared your doubt. All the best for future endeavour!!
Hii Anjali,
Bachelor of Commerce is a three year under graduation course with six semesters. The basic eligibility criteria is that one should have completed 10+2 with minimum 50% from a recognised board of University with Maths and English as core subjects.Yes 10+2 with science stream is eligible to take Admission in BCom course.
Thank you.
Yes you can do b.com though you are from science background because the eligibility criteria required for getting admission in b.com is a candidate must have passed class12th from a recognised board and with an aggregate of atleast 50%.
So if you have% above 50 you can apply for b.com.
Hope your doubts are clear now.
Good luck.
Hi Anjali,
Yes, BCom admissions are usually based on merit.
It does not matter what stream you have pursued in 11th and 12th.
You are eligible for Bcom.
Good luck!
