What discipline in engineering should I pursue to enter a career in renewable energy resources?
For this you can study energy science and engineering. There's another subject as well. Renewal energy and engineering. Power engineering is also helps you to get a better future.
Here I'm sharing a link below from which you can get some idea about this area of study.

Hello Snehita
If you are not sure which field in renewable energy you would like to go into, then I would stick with mechanical engineering. The reasons are:
- Mechanical engineering typically encompasses material engineering, which lends itself well to understanding solar panels and how they produce electricity.
- Mechanical engineers typically learn more about heat transfer and thermodynamics than other disciplines. This allows for a proper understanding of how solar thermal collectors work.
- Most of the non-solar renewable technologies have rotating machinery, and mechanical engineers are trained to design them.
After the undergraduate degree, one can pursue dedicated certificates in solar energy or specializations at the masters level. Here are some reputable certificates and masters programs available.
