Hello Aspirant,

What you have to do is either wait till the end of counselling sessions and see whether you have chance at getting into a preparatory course. If there are vacancies in the SC category seats you will be given a preparatory course based on the rank and number of seats. Note , this is not a n admission to a regular B.Tech course in IITs , it is just a one year training course where they will train and see if your score is improving at the end of the year and if you pass you will be given regular engineering seat.  The branch of IIT which you may get for the preparatory course  will vary based on the vacancy too. Usually seats are less in number and a safe rank is below 2000, hence cannot predict for sure. Meanwhile you may  check the options you have with your JEE Mains score and decide based on what is best for you.
