There are 3 ligaments for the female reproductive system. They are Broad ligament, Uterine ligament and Ovarian ligament. Together these ligaments are tough and non extensible and act to support the viscera. Mesovarium in laymen terms is a portion of the broad ligament of the uterus that is associated with the ovaries. It is a part of the broad ligament that suspends the ovaries. Though the ovaries are suspended by the mesovarium, the ovaries are not covered by it. Rather the germinal epithelium covers the ovaries.

Hello,

In the Uterus, portion of broad ligament which suspends the ovaries is called as mesovarium. It is the peritoneal covering of the ovary. Blood vessels and nerves pass to the ovary through mesovarium. It is very important part of female urogenital system.

I hope this answer helps you.

Good Luck!!
