WHAT IS NEET PERCENTILE?
Well, this is a very simple question to answer. Suppose a student has got a marks of 550 and his/her percentile is 98.98 this simply means that he/she has crossed 98.98% of people who have attended the NEET exam.
In the context of competitive exams, percent ile is very different from percent age . Your percent ile is an indication of the number of people you are ahead of. Your percent age refers to the absolute marks that you have scored.
CBSE has declared that candidates should obtain a certain percentile in order to be eligible for admissions to top medical colleges in India through NEET
In NEET counselling, percentile rank indicates the percentage of candidates one has scored more than. For example, if minimum qualifying percentile for a category is 45th percentile, it means that the candidate belonging to that category should score marks such that his/her marks are higher than at least 45% of the candidates appearing in the exam.
