Hello

Admission to MBBS Course in Medical Colleges of Maharashtra is done on the basis of rank of candidate in the NEET UG exam.

As per the NEET UG admission criteria, there are 15% All India Quota seats and 85% State Quota seats in all Government medical and dental colleges across the country. Candidates from all over India are eligible to apply for All India Quota seats and for 85% state quota seats, every state declares its own eligibility criteria for admission. Some states require candidates to have passed class 11th and 12th from the state like Delhi and some states require the candidate to be a domicile of the state. Eligibility Criteria varies from state to state.

Eligibility Criteria for admission to MBBS course in medical colleges of Maharashtra is as follows-

- Candidates who are Indian citizens/Non-Residents of India/Overseas Citizens of India/Persons of Indian Origin are eligible for Maharashtra MBBS admission 2019. Such candidates should have passed 10th and 12th from Maharashtra state and should be a domicile of Maharashtra.

- The Indian Citizens and OCIs will be eligible to apply for admissions to the seats available for Government Corporation/Government Aided/Private unaided colleges.

- NRIs and PIOs will be eligible to apply only for Management quota/NRI Quota seats.

- For admission to state quota seats in Maharashtra, candidates should have the domicile certificate of the state. Also, candidates should have completed Classes 10 and 12 from the state. If you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria, you cannot apply for state quota seats.

- Candidate should be medically fit to pursue the MBBS course.

Now, according to your query, if you are a Maharashtra state candidate and fulfill the eligibility criteria (you are a domicile of Maharashtra state and have completed Class 10 and Class 12 from the state) then you are eligible to apply for admissions to the state quota seats in Maharashtra medical colleges and if you are student of any other state and wish to take admission in Maharashtra, then you can only apply for 15% All India Quota seats. No seats are available for Non-Maharashtra candidates.

Non-Maharashtra candidates can not even apply for private medical colleges as in private colleges seats are divided in 85% and 15% ratio wherein 85% seats fall under State Quota (for which domicile is required). The remaining 15% seats are for NRI. NRI seats are also known as Management or Institutional Quota seats.

Hii ambhaikar

As cut-off marks vary year to year depending upon number of students appear in the exam and the difficulty level of the exam so if you belong to general category and if you are applying under 85% state quota seats then you should score above 510 marks and if you are under 15% all India quota seats then you should score above 550 marks to secure a seat in government medical College in Maharashtra I hope this information helps you.

Thank you
