What exactly does ear marking in maharashtra's online preference form means. I am from obc category. Should I ear mark it as open or reserved?

Earmarking option means reserved category applying candidate entitled to admission on the basis of merit in an open category seat will have the option of taking admission either against his/her respective category seat or on an open category seat.
You may select earmark any one category as per your preferences.
