Hello Aspirant,

Acquiring a license is the final cog in the steps to build a career in medicine. To acquire the license to practice medicine in India, all aspirants must clear a screening test which is currently organised by the National Board of Examination (NBE), under the guidelines of the MCI. The screening test, also known as Foreign Medical Graduates Examination or popularly known as FMGE Screening Test, is a compulsory examination for all aspiring practising doctors.

The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a screening test conducted by the National Board of Examination for Indians who graduated from an MBBS programme in an international educational institution. FMGE has been designed to qualify and provide a valid license to medical graduates who wish to practice medicine anywhere in India legally. The screening test is a compulsory step that all foreign UG and PG medical graduates are required to clear in India.
