It's not necessary to challenge an answer in the official answer key. Though you can challenge the answer if you feel it is wrong. If someone challenges a question in NEET and gets his own answer to be correct then the new answer will be considered for all the candidates, so yes your marks will be deducted. But then the authorities won't tell you if the answer to the question that you have challenged is right or wrong or what is the new answer.
