What happens to resistance of wire when it's length doubled?? Please answer ...

Since length is directly proportional to resistance.

So,resistance will be doubled.

Since length of wire is proportional to resistance ..the resistance will increase when the length is doubled

Dear Vinay,

Resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire, and inversely proportional to the cross sectional area of the wire. As a wire gets longer its resistance increases, and as it gets thinner its resistance also increases because its cross sectional area decreases.
