What happens when we not pass the cat exam what r the options available then for doing a MBA
Common Admission Test (CAT) is the first thing that comes to our mind when we think ofMBAentrance exams. Most B-Schools in India accept CAT scores for admission.
XAT, MAT and CMAT are next on the list. Then comes SNAP, NMAT, GMAT and so on.
Overall, most candidates end up taking about two to three exams in an academic season.
CAT-XAT-CMAT rules the roost among all, because the best colleges of the country such as IIMs, MDI, FMS, IMT, XLRI, SP Jain accept these scores.
But the stunning fact is India has more than 50 MBA entrance tests. Some tests are held at a national level, some at the regional level and some at institute level. Most of these exams are attempted by a small fraction of MBA aspirants.
Yet, each candidate should be aware of the choices and options available to them, early on during MBA preparation season.

Hi Khushi,
CAT is one of the important exams for getting into an MBA course but there are various other options too. You need CAT necessarily for getting into IIM's but there are other top-tier colleges like Symbiosis, XLRI, TISS etc who conduct their own exams and those scores are valid for admissions in other colleges as well.
Here's a short list of important exams and a comprehensive list of colleges accepting those scores:
1. XAT: XLRI, XIMB, XIME, and various others
2. SNAP: SIBM, SCMHRD, SIOM, SIMS and all other colleges under symbiosis university.
3. IIFT: entrance for Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (Delhi and Kolkata campus)
4. NMAT by GMAC: NMIMS and few other colleges
5. CET: State-level MBA entrance examination
6. MAT: entrance exams for colleges under AIMA
If you have work experience of at least 2 years, you can attempt for GMAT and with a score of 650+ you can apply for ISB Mohali and Hyderabad campus.
For a GLobal MBA, GMAT, and GRE both scores are valid but they need some work experience too.
Also, you have an option of pursuing MSc in Management (MiM) from foreign universities and is in great demand nowadays.
You can alternatively give exams of lower difficulty level like CMAT, MHCET,, MAT, NMAT which is accepted across mor ethan 700 Bschools in India. Try to scorr above 90 percentile on safe side and join coaching institutions for GD PI preparation to sureshot guarantee your seat.
