There is a huge responsibility to do as a brand manager. The quality and skills required to be a brand manager should have an instinctive feeling about future product concepts, good analytical skills, should be a good listener, able to respond to results and consumer research, should be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing be enthusiastic about their product area. The job can involve working with in-house marketing and communications people, as well as legal and compliance staff and numerous creative agencies. It is usual for the brand manager to represent the company at all creative meetings, including photo and film shoots. A brand manager is responsible for the overall image of a product or person. Key elements of the job are researching the marketplace to determine where the product or client fits in (i.e., analyzing competitive positioning, products, brands, and spending); developing marketing and advertising strategies and managing those budgets; helping create designs and layouts for print and digital advertising concepts signage and collateral; overseeing promotional activities; analyzing pricing and sales; and evaluating how the brand can appeal to a wider consumer base.
