Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

As per your question, josaa counselling is the way of counselling through which you can get into IITs and Nits as well as IIITs and GFTIs. There are several process through which you have to confirm your registration for seat allocation. The process arr :-

1) registration of josaa counselling

2) choice filling and locking of choices

3) mock seat allotment

5) then announcement of seat allotment result

6) payment of seat aacceptance fees

7) reporting of candidates at reporting centres and thereafter confirm your registration.

These are the processes through which you can get into top colleges as per your rank. Seat allocation normally means allocation of seat which you are going to choose as per your given colleges.

If you want to predict your college as per your rank you can use this tool:-

Dear student,

Josaa - joint seat allocation authority, is responsible for giving admission in undergraduate courses in IITs, NITs , iiits and gftis.
Josaa counselling is scheduled on 6th October 2020.

On 6th October 2020, first you have to register yourself in through josaa counselling portal by giving your jee mains details and other details.

Now you have to fill and lock choices of your preferred colleges that you can get on basis of your jee mains rank on basis of your preferred order. Filling and choice locking is available for a limited time and after that the choices are automatically locked.
The josaa also conducts mock seat allotment, before the final date of locking choices.
Mock seat allotment is conducted to give a basic idea to students, so that they can understand that what are the colleges they might get on the basis of choices filled by them.
So that you can change your preference order of choice filling. And after that if you get allotted a seat and accepts it, then you have to report to the reporting centre to confirm your seat and get provisional admission in that particular college.
